One of my favorite things about this Missouri attraction is the cave itself. I walked down the boardwalk to view some of the cave’s most spectacular features. While I didn’t see any Civil War fossils during my tour, I was surprised to see graffiti carvings from the 1800s, and there were even some cave-dwelling creatures that were still alive.

The cave’s unique features include an 11-story arch, Native American history, and geology. Some of the cave’s rare cave life, including Bristly Cave Crayfish and Blind Cave Salamanders, are a fascinating part of the tour. While you’re in the area, be sure to check out the Ancient Ozarks Natural History Museum. You’ll learn about the animals that once roamed the Ozarks. The city is the county seat of Christian County, Missouri, and offers many attractions for all ages.
