2023 Contender Academy
Welcome to the 2023 season of Contender Academy.
Contender academy is a 5 month season with the focus of introducing young gamers to a competitive and organized eSports environment.
Over the course of the season, players will be coached and given the opportunity to improve through guided practice and competitive matches.
Supported Games Spring 2023:
Valorant: 5-9 players per team
Rocket League: 3-5 players per team
Fortnite: 2 players per team
There is no cap on the number of academy players and teams will be formed according to sign ups. This means games like Valorant and Rocket league will have subs/rotating rosters to give everyone practice and game time.
Pricing:
Feb-Jun: $65 per month
For the year: $325
Play Metrics
Players and coaches will be organizing weekly practice and competitive schedules via the Play Metrics app. All of the aspects of coaching, management of teams, organizing practice, set drills, and match days will all be distributed via the app notifications

Learn About Our Esport Training Program
At Contender eSports, we are committed to providing a comprehensive selection of esports competitions, such as camps, tournaments, and an intensive training academy at the highest level to gamers in Springfield, MO, and the surrounding areas. Players can expand their exposure to university programs and prepare to compete nationally at our esports training program. Along with the competition, our gamers build camaraderie as we focus on individual and team skill development. All our tryouts are free, so interested gamers just need to register to participate in the training academy tryouts at the location of their choice. Our training academy provides Coach led and Guided practices two times per week and includes all our most popular games, such as Halo, Valorant, League of Legends, Call of Duty, and many more!
What is the Contender Academy?
In 2021, we designed something that had never been created before in this country: Contender Academy. We know that in traditional sports, we have people who casually play those sports. There then is a segment that will play high school or college sports. Then there is a group of kids or youth who want to excel deeper in the sport outside of casually playing. So they will join a soccer club here in Springfield. We’ve got Sporting Springfield as a soccer club. Or if you play baseball, there are the Midwest MAVs, right? We take that same concept and apply it to esports. We have two seasons, fall and spring, lasting 10 to 12 weeks. Register your kids today!
